Adjusting

Even though there hasn't been much more going on than attending to Eden, it seems like I've been living in a whirlwind or something. It's a big adjustment into parenthood. I cannot imagine our life without her now and I don't want to go back to that but a lot of things are different now.

Eden didn't sleep as well as she has been last night. I am even more tired than usual. Thankfully, Davis is off today and can help. My parents were here last week helping. Tomorrow I will be on my own for a few days, until Davis' mom comes.  For now, I'll just post some more pictures.

I love these morning/sleepy faces. I know they are probably related to gas or poop (something not cute). But they are fun to watch as she makes them.

Griz and Grammie with Eden

Davis had a mustache for work one day,
Eden seemed a little unsure of it.
Her little bow finally came off and we kinda miss it. Sweet little sleeping baby.
Anyways, time to carry on with the day! Eden is waking up from a nap and shall be hungry.

40 weeks, hopefully the last "weeks" posts!

40.1 weeks and I am plenty big

Well, yesterday was the official "due" date. We all know how accurate those tend to be :) We have decided that we will continue to enjoy these last few days/hours of pre-parental life as much as we can. I am eager to meet this little one but also am so thankful for time with my sweet Davis.

the due date!

Last night we took a due day date. We ate downtown at the German deli, Siegfried's. After watching some House Hunters International when I take some down time, I wanted to eat some German food. After dinner, we walked a few blocks to the symphony. The highlight was Saint-Saen's Organ symphony. Camille Saint-Saƫns is both in our top favorite composers. We have often considered naming a girl Camille after him. I don't think that will happen this time, but we'll see! All the music was so beautiful. It is such a treat to hear these pieces live. It's also crazy to think that not that long ago, the only time people could hear such works of art was live and if you were wealthy enough.

my symphony date, he is the best.

Since we weren't interrupted in the middle of the night by baby activity, we woke up to another morning of opportunity. We managed to get out of the house and have a lovely breakfast at Gourmandise, a bakery and cafe.  I had more food than pictured :)

decaf latte and almond croissant
After breakfast we ran errands to our favorite places, garden centers! We also got a few new clothing items for Davis that he had been needing. After the errands, we came home and worked on the yard. Davis weeded the garden while I did a few odds and ends. We also planted a strip of the yard with wild flower seeds. Fingers cross they come up!  Now we are taking a much needed water break.

I've managed to stay fairly active the whole pregnancy. It doesn't seem I'll be able to convince this baby to come just by doing yard work and going for walks. We are trying lots of things, within reason. However, as long as baby is healthy, baby can take a little extra time. Just don't take too long or the doctor will come after us!

Hopefully the next time I post, there will be a little one for everyone to meet!
